Sometimes, when you throw a bunch of stuff into a crock pot, magical things happen.
This soup just confirms my theory of put good in, get good out. When you start with good ingredients, you generally will end up with a good finished product with minimal effort. Try it sometime.
I scrounged the following ingredients from my pantry/fridge:
1/2 lb pork, cubed
2 potatoes, cubed
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup dried split peas
1 cup heavy cream
2 cups water
1 tsp red pepper flake
1/2 heaping tsp chicken bullion
Throw it all into your crock pot. Set on low for 8 hours, stir occasionally.
Serve with some cheese and a spoonful of sour cream.
