Pear bread

It's amazing to me that a bowl of mush can be turned into a beautiful loaf of bread.
Baking is neat, science is fun, blah blah blah.

Anyway, remember the pear butter experiment from last weekend? I had a little left over and didn't want to waste it. So, I made pear bread. It turned out absolutely fabuloso!

You will need:
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 egg
1/2 cup orange juice
1 cup pear sauce
1tbs oats for sprinkling
Combine the dry ingredients and pour in the wet. Stir thoroughly. Pour batter into a greased loaf pan, sprinkle with oats, bake at 350 degrees until top browns and a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean (about 40 mins).
